Future States - a short film about a gamifying world...
A great shortfilm by David Kaplan and Eric Zimmerman about games, gamification and how it could intrude into our daily life. One thing is not correct though. We will always know when we are playing and when we are nog playing. Stepping in and out of the circle of play is eminent and makes us very conscious of gaming and not-gaming.

Philips Cinema - Parallel Lines - Official Trailer
Cool contest by Philips Parallel Lines. Five directors from the Ridley Scott school made five different shortfilms from a few lines of dialogue only. Now they asked consumers to create a film with the same briefing... check the channel on Youtube to watch the results...

Absolut overraded: I am here!
Over hyped?
I watched the short film 'I am here' by Spike Jontze (sponsored by Absolut Wodka) yesterday evening and must say I was somewhat disappointed. Sure it's a great and innovative way to show how consumers related to the internet might end up (uploading data in our heads through a socket in the wall) and of course there was the 'love-story' part between computer-people, but was it just that? A sort of Romeo and Juliet robotic love story?
I guess I expected more from the relations people would have with computers in the future and how much they already mean to us in our daily lives, since we have become so reliant on them (and our cell phones...).
If you want to form an opinion of your own (which you should) be sure to check it out here:

Beat The Devil (BMW Short Film)
Another way to promote your car... Put GREAT actors and celebreties in a 10 minute plotted film, directed by Tony Scott (amongst others) where your brand plays a minor part... and hope for VIRALITY!
I would rather play the game, but still - it's done in a very cool way!

TRON - Legacy: Cult Hero Actor Starrs Again!

I have never seen the original, but according to Wikipedia it's another Cult Classic!

Depeche Mode used filmcontent for their Video
And Midway launched an Arcade game machine in the mid-eighties.

Not so 'niche' as I thought?
